SAGE & CORNMEAL BISCUITS

1 1/4 C white flour 3/4 C yellow cornmeal 2 tsp baking powder 1/4 tsp baking soda 1/8 tsp freshly ground pepper 2 tsp minced Mariposa Farms Sage 4 tbsp margarine 1/4 C apple juice 1 egg white, lightly beaten 14 Mariposa Farms Sage leaves |
| Combine first 6 ingredients in a medium bowl. Cut in margarine until mixture resembles course peas. With fork blend in 3/4 C apple juice. Divide dough into 14 pieces and form each into 2-inch biscuits. Place biscuits, touching, on an ungreased cookie sheet. Dip each sage leaf lightly in the egg white and place one on top of each biscuit. Bake at 425 degrees F for 12 minutes or until lightly browned. | |
